A Scalar Function Formulation for Optical Flow

In this work, we present results from a new formulation for determining image velocities from a time-sequence of X-ray projection images of owing uid. Starting with the conservation of mass principle, and physics of X-ray projection, we derive a motion constraint equation for projection imaging, a practical special case of which is shown to be the Horn and Schunck's optical ow constraint. We ar...

On the Collapse of Charged Scalar Fields

We explore numerically the evolution of a collapsing spherical shell of charged, massless scalar field. We obtain an external ReissnerNördstrom space-time, and an inner space-time that is bounded by a singularity on the Cauchy Horizon. We compare these results with previous analysis and discuss some of the numerical problems encountered.

Decay Constants of Charged Pseudo - Scalar Mesons

Introduction. Charged mesons formed from a quark and an anti-quark can decay to a charged lepton and a neutrino when these objects annihilate via a virtual W boson [1]. Fig. 1 illustrates this process for the purely leptonic decay of a D + meson.

Ideal Gas Law

Ideal gases are gases in which the particles of the gas only interact through elastic collisions; there are no intermolecular forces between the particles. Real gases can approximate ideal gases at conditions of low pressure and high temperature where the intermolecular forces are negligible. Under those conditions the equation of state for an ideal gas holds: PV=nRT (1) where the pressure (P) ...
